Barnhart Crane & Rigging provides lifting, heavy-rigging and heavy-hauling solutions for complex transportation and installation challenges in heavy industry. Founded in 1969 by Dick and Nancy Barnhart in Memphis, Tennessee, and still family-owned, the firm has grown into one of the largest heavy lift and heavy transport organisations in North America, with more than 70 locations across the continent and over 1,500 employees.

Its work spans heavy lift engineering, heavy rigging, heavy hauling and transport, outage planning, project cargo logistics, and research and development. Services include operated crane rental delivered through a local presence, heavy rigging of major industrial components, industrial outage planning, specialised replacement of large components used in American industry, industrial storage, and national project cargo logistics for heavy and oversized loads. Customers are drawn largely from power generation, industrial outage work, manufacturing and component replacement, and project cargo and logistics.

The company maintains one of the largest engineering teams in the industry, including a dedicated R&D department, and describes a culture of servant leadership, continuous improvement and "profit with a purpose".
