Clean Harbors, Inc.

Clean Harbors provides environmental and industrial services across North America, including hazardous waste disposal, used oil re-refining, industrial cleaning and emergency spill response.

Clean Harbors, Inc. is North America's largest hazardous waste disposal company and the continent's largest re-refiner of used oil. Founded in 1980 by Alan S. McKim, the company began as a tank cleaning business near suburban Boston with a single Mack truck and four employees; it now operates more than 400 service locations and over 100 disposal facilities across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CLH.

The company's work is organised around hazardous and non-hazardous waste management and disposal, industrial cleaning and maintenance, emergency spill response, solvent recycling and closed-loop recycling and reclamation. Through its Safety-Kleen subsidiary it provides recycling, reclaiming and reusing services for used oil and cleaning solvents. Customers span the chemical, manufacturing, energy, refinery, transportation, utilities, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and government sectors, and the firm serves a majority of Fortune 500 companies.

Operations run on proven methodology applied to difficult industrial problems, with an emphasis on responsible, closed-loop sustainability solutions. Technical work covers waste stream handling, re-refining, reclamation and industrial plant maintenance across a large fixed asset base of disposal and service sites.
