Piedmont Airlines, Inc. is a regional airline and a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group, operating American Eagle-branded regional jet service across the eastern United States. The company employs more than 11,000 aviation professionals and flies a fleet of over 50 Embraer ERJ-145 twin-engine regional jets, running nearly 400 daily departures to more than 55 cities. It is headquartered at Salisbury Regional Airport in Wicomico County, Maryland.

For technical staff, the relevant footprint is Piedmont's maintenance and operations network. The airline maintains seven maintenance facilities along the East Coast and operates crew bases in Charlotte, North Carolina; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Its technical domains cover aircraft maintenance, aviation safety, flight operations, ground operations and regional airline operations. Piedmont is a multi-year winner of the FAA Diamond Award of Excellence.

The airline's service connects smaller communities to major American Airlines hubs in Charlotte, Philadelphia and Chicago. Founded in 1931 by aviation pioneer and Fairchild Aircraft test pilot Richard A. Henson, the company traces its origins to Hagerstown, Maryland, and today plays a role in supporting the American Airlines network.
