Calvert County Government is the public administration for a county in southern Maryland, serving more than 90,000 residents through 11 departments and a workforce of nearly 1,300 employees. The county seat is Prince Frederick, and the jurisdiction covers 213 square miles between the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay - Maryland's smallest county by land area, roughly 35 miles south-east of Washington, D.C., and about 55 miles south of Baltimore.

Established in 1654, Calvert County is among the oldest county governments in the United States. Authority rests with an elected five-member Board of County Commissioners serving four-year terms. The county's stated commitments include excellent customer service and transparency in its operations.

The wider regional economy includes defence contracting, information technology, tourism, energy, advanced manufacturing and administrative services. Calvert County describes the area as a family-friendly community with a strong standard of living, an active arts and entertainment scene, and extensive water-based recreation along the Chesapeake Bay.
