Heritage Cooperative
Farmer-owned Ohio agricultural cooperative, founded in 1919, providing agronomy, crop inputs, grain marketing and storage, animal feed, petroleum and propane delivery, lubricants and retail supplies.
Heritage Cooperative is a farmer-owned agricultural cooperative tracing its history to 1919, when two entities - U.S. Commission Company and Ada Farmers Exchange - were established. More than a century on, it serves agricultural producers and other customers primarily across Ohio, including western and central parts of the state, with operations associated with Ada and Upper Sandusky. Its member ownership structure underpins a stated focus on helping farmers improve profitability while operating responsibly.
The cooperative's activities span the full run of farm supply and service. Agronomy services include soil sampling, nutrient stewardship and agricultural technology, alongside seed and crop inputs; the company has planned an $11 million agronomy facility in Upper Sandusky. Grain marketing and storage is supported by grain bids, futures information and market commentary, while animal feed products are backed by nutritional expertise.
Energy distribution forms a substantial part of the business, covering petroleum and propane delivery and lubricant products. Retail supplies extend across farm, lawn, garden, pet, wildlife and show categories. Online tools allow members to manage accounts and grain, and technical work touches agricultural technology, soil sampling and nutrient stewardship, grain market analysis and animal nutrition.
Heritage Cooperative reports investing in facility improvements, community initiatives, and agricultural education and youth development, and aims to remain a useful presence in the local communities it serves.
