Liebherr-International S.A. is a family-owned manufacturer of construction equipment and technology, founded in 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The company's first product was the world's first mobile tower crane - a machine that could be easily transported and quickly assembled on job sites. Today its work spans 13 product segments, from mobile cranes and large mining excavators used for large-scale excavation and earthmoving to ultra-precise aerospace components for the aviation industry.

The group employs more than 50,000 people across over 150 companies in 50-plus countries, with equipment in service on construction sites worldwide. Engineering work covers construction equipment, mobile crane design, mining equipment, aerospace components, wind energy technology, hydrogen power systems and intelligent automation. Hydrogen-powered construction site solutions and automation systems are under development, alongside sustainable wind energy technology.

Ownership remains 100% with the Liebherr family across three generations, and the company is privately held.
