Chaney Enterprises

Family-owned supplier of ready-mix concrete, sand, stone, gravel and building materials, operating over 100 concrete plants across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.

Chaney Enterprises is a family-owned construction materials supplier founded in 1962 by Eugene "Babe" Chaney in Southern Maryland, where it began as a one-truck operation. The company is headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, and is led by CEO Francis "Hall" Chaney, III. More than 60 years after its founding, it supplies ready-mix concrete, sand, stone, gravel and general building materials to contractors, builders and homeowners across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions, including Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.

The scale of that network is substantial. Chaney Enterprises operates over 100 ready-mix concrete plants and more than a dozen sand and gravel facilities, drawing aggregates from its own mining and processing sites. Materials are moved by land, sea and rail, so the company runs a multimodal logistics operation alongside its production sites. For technicians, that combination of concrete plants, aggregate facilities and a distributed delivery fleet means equipment spanning ready-mix mixers, earthmoving and processing machinery, and the trucks and trailers supporting regional haulage.

The firm remains under Chaney family ownership, with many family members still working in the business. Its stated mission covers the delivery of products and services alongside commitments to employees, customers, communities and the environment; the company describes its culture as built on a legacy of hard work and family values.
