Scout AI is a U.S. defense AI lab building vision-language-action models and autonomous command-and-control systems for unmanned warfare across air, land, sea and space.
Scout AI is a frontier artificial-intelligence laboratory for U.S. defense, founded in 2024 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, with a center of excellence in Maine. Its work centres on a reasoning layer that converts commander intent into coordinated autonomous action across the battlespace. The company's technical domains include vision-language-action (VLA) foundation models, multi-agent collaboration, autonomous robotics, natural-language command and control, edge AI for communications and GPS-denied operation, sensor fusion and command-and-control orchestration.
Its principal product, Fury, is described as the first defense-specific Vision-Language-Action foundation model for unmanned warfare. It allows human operators to direct fleets of robots through natural language, coordinating machines that sense, decide and act as a single force. Fury operates across air, land, sea and space, is platform-agnostic and integrates with existing robotic systems; it functions without external connectivity or cloud infrastructure, including in communications and GPS-denied environments. The company has also unveiled Ox, a C2-based autonomous vehicle orchestrator.
Scout AI booked $11m in contracts with the Department of War in its first 18 months and raised a $100m Series A, reported as the largest defense-tech Series A in U.S. history. It has publicly demonstrated a fully autonomous end-to-end strike mission executed by AI agents. The firm states a mission of ensuring U.S. and allied dominance in the age of intelligent machines and describes itself as assembling a world-class, research-oriented team.
